I am a self-taught artist. I started painting about 3 years ago, following surgery, as a way to keep my mind active during recovery.

We live in Whitehorse in the The Yukon, on the beautiful traditional lands of the Kwanlin Dün and Ta’an Kwäch’än First Nations. We are grateful to be able to live surrounded by such beauty.

Background

Snow-covered landscape with mountain range in the background, leafless trees in the foreground, and a clear blue sky.

Whitehorse is surrounded by stunning scenery

A body of turquoise water with a forested hillside in the background under a partly cloudy blue sky.

The mighty Yukon river flows through our city

Watercolor painting of a camel's head wearing a colorful necklace with yellow and blue tassels.
Watercolor painting of a blue and red Siamese fighting fish swimming to the right with an orange background.

My first artwork was mainly watercolour and covered many different subjects.

(See watercolour paintings on this page.Yukoners will recognise the one that depicts the iconic clay cliffs in Whitehorse.)

Later, I also started painting in soft pastels.

Pets have always been a big part of my life, and I soon realised that what I really enjoy creating are animal portraits, which is what I focus on now. My pet portraits are done in either watercolours, pastels, or a combination of both.
